Wool is a remarkable natural fiber. It is amazingly effective as a diaper cover because it can absorb 30% of its own weight before feeling damp. The lanolin that is found in wool gives it an antibacterial, moisture-resistant barrier that allows air to circulate. This actually causes the moisture absorbed by the wool fibers to evaporate into the air.

Most people find that wool works wonderfully for overnights, keeping the sheets dry even on the wettest of nights. Wool also makes a great cover for day use, as well, providing an all-natural waterproof barrier. Wool covers do need special handling, but they also only need to be washed every few weeks.

We use only the softest of wool products for our covers.

Wallypop Woolie Wraps

Wallypop Woolie Wraps give you all the great benefits of a wool cover in a convenient wrap style. These wraps are trim enough to be worn underneath clothes for day use, but are also strong enough for use all night. Many customers report that, after trying our wool wraps overnight, they won't use anything else!

Our woolie wraps come to you freshly lanolized and ready to wear. We wash each cover after it is assembled to lanolize it, so if your cover looks "washed" when it arrives - that's because it has been!

• Made from soft, felted wool.
• Two layers with hidden elastic.
• Close using Touchtape with crossover tabs and fold-back laundry tabs.
• Made to fit over most fitted diapers and prefolds.

Namie's Knitteds - Knit Wool Soakers, Longies, Shorties, and Shorts

Namie's Woolies are wonderfully soft, hand-knit wool soakers, shorts, and longies. The current inventory was knit by Wally's Namie, who rediscovered the joy of knitting as she re-learned how to knit with limited eyesight during her dialysis sessions, which were otherwise terribly boring! Namie passed away at the end of January 2008, so once these are gone, we will no longer be offering them. However, all proceeds from these beautiful covers will go directly to Wally's college fund, per Namie's strict instructions.

Our Namie's Woolies Longies make excellent leggings or pants even for babies who are no longer in diapers, or who use disposable diapers.

• All wool must pass a softness test before being used!
• Stretchy to accommodate even bulky night diapers.

Wallypop Woolies Longies - Recycled Wool Longies

Wallypop Woolies are pull-on wool covers made from 100% recycled wool (generally from sweaters). It's the ultimate in soft-on-the-planet diapering since no new materials are used (other than thread, of course).

We used our wool covers at night and during the day as outerwear, but you could also wear them under clothes if you wanted. Friends who have little girls often dress their girls in dresses and put a wool cover under the dress like bloomers. During the winter months, Wally practically lives in his wool longies, even now that he's out of diapers!

Measurements below are approximates and a long rise can be folded down. The measurements try to reflect the cover unstretched as well as stretched to give you an idea of the range. To find a diaper that is a good fit for your baby, measure baby's waist and rise over a diaper (the rise is the measurement from the back of the diaper through the legs to the front of the diaper).
