Wallypop Repair Services

In addition to providing you with great diapers, slings, and other items, Wallypop can help make the items you already own last longer! We offer all kinds of repair services, from fixing broken or missing snaps to repairing popped or fraying seams.

What we can fix and Pricing:

  • Snaps on diapers: $1 flat fee per diaper plus $.10 per snap.
  • Hook-and-Loop tape repair (lost its "stick," falling off, or needs to be replaced):
    • You remove old hook and loop: $1 flat fee per diaper plus $.10 per tab component and $.50 for the landing strip.
    • I remove old hook and loop: $3 flat fee per diaper plus $.10 per tab component $.50 for the landing strip. (note: I do not usually remove all the old hook and loop, but sew over the old stuff when that makes more sense.)
    • Tab Component = any part of a tab. The hook part is one component, the laundry tab is another component, etc.
  • Serging (wearing off the edges of fitteds or prefolds): $1 per prefold, $2 other diapers.
  • Popped or worn seams: Charge depends on the extent of the damage.
  • Elastic replacement: Charge depends on style of diaper. Usually $1-3 per elastic part.
  • Hook-and-loop tape conversion to snaps:
    • You remove old hook and loop and mark snap placement: $1 flat fee per diaper plus $.10 per snap.
    • I remove old hook and loop and mark snap placement: $3 flat fee per diaper plus $.10 per snap.

So how does this work?

  1. Please email or call and describe the damage you need to have repaired. Photographs are always good if the damage is unusual, but not required. Please be as explicit as possible in describing what you want done. "Fix this" doesn't work for me. "The hook tape needs to be replaced, and the loop on the landing strip, but I think the laundry tabs are fine" is better.
  2. I will get back to you with a quote or let you know if I will be unable to make the requested repairs. (I may be unable to quote some items without a picture.)
  3. We'll agree on the charges and the repair work to be completed.
  4. You bring the diapers by if you live in the area, or mail them if you don't.
  5. If you choose to mail them, please mail in a plastic envelope or a box. Do not use a paper envelope. Include a note with your name and contact information. A printout of our emails back and forth would be GREAT.
  6. I get to work and you send payment for the cost of the repair and return postage.
  7. When the repairs are completed, I will send your items back to you for many more years of enjoyment.

There is always a chance that your diapers will arrive and when I see them in person, I'll realize that they are in worse condition than I thought, or there are other factors that make them difficult or impossible to repair. I will contact you if this happens. (it's happened once in six years.)

Please note: If you mark the location of the snaps, I will put the snaps where you mark them. Please make sure your marks are where you want the snaps. Crooked marks = crooked snaps. Marks that don't line up = snaps that don't line up. Using a ruler to ensure straight lines and even spacing yields the most satisfactory results.

Please Note: ALWAYS check first with the manufacturer of your items. Many manufacturers - including Wallypop - offer guarantees on their items if they are defective. Several cloth diaper makers will repair snaps for you free of charge. Before you pay me to fix them for you, make sure you can't get the same service for free from the original manufacturer! Just a tip.
